2017 K2 Big Mountain Challenge – Lake Louise

On February 24th & 25th, the K2 Big Mountain Challenge is back for its 14th year.  The 2017 B.M.C. has categories for both skiing and snowboarding for men and women who are 18 and older. Athletes compete on different venues over the course of two days and are judged on line, control, fluidity, technique, and style. The event will run Friday (Qualifiers) & Saturday (Finals). Athletes will be allowed 1 run on each day.

$5,000 in cash and prizing to be won!

Categories

• Men Ski (18+).
• Women Ski (18+).
• Men Snowboard (18+).
• Women Snowboard (18+).

Registration

Registration is $80 CAD plus your lift ticket. Another $20 will be needed for your bib deposit, but that will be returned to you at the end of the competition. To register online, please click here! Schedule

Thursday February 23rd 

• Early Check-in and registration at the Events Office from 8:00am – 4:00pm. You can also register online. Registration will only be accepted on February 23rd or online.

Friday February 24th – Qualifiers

• 7:30am – 8:30am: Check-in at the Sitzmark Lounge.
• 8:30am: Mandatory coach & athlete meeting in the Sitzmark Lounge
• There will be no registration the day of, so please register ahead of time!
• 9:00am: Load lifts.
• 9:30am-10:30am: Inspection Runs (no hitting of features).
• 11:00am – 4:00pm: Qualifying Runs in Venue.
• Results of the day posted @ Sitzmark, online and Events office – whenever the last competitor is done and the judges have tallied their scores.

Saturday February 25th – Finals 

• 7:30am – 8:30am: Check-in at the Sitzmark Lounge.
• 8:30am: Mandatory coach & athlete meeting in the Sitzmark Lounge.
• 9:00am: Load lifts.
• 9:30am-10:45am: Inspection Runs (no hitting of features).
• 11:00am – 4:00pm: Finals Runs.
• Results of the day @ Sitzmark Lounge- whenever the last competitor is done and the judges have tallied their scores.
• 3:00pm – 5:00pm: Please join us for free chili while you wait for the results. Bar at the Sitzmark will be open for service. Awards will be presented at the After-Party in the Lodge of Ten Peaks!

All Athletes will receive a free ticket to the Hot Dogger After-Party!
Note: you do not need a coach to participate in this event! 

Bibs

Competitor bibs will be worn during the event. A deposit of $20 cash is required at check-in. You will receive this back when your bib is returned at the end of the event.

Waiver

All participants must sign an event waiver, which will be available at Registration/check in.
