The Rocky Mountain Freeriders aren’t your average freeski team. With 15 seasons of producing the finest young shredders the Bow Valley has seen, they know their stuff in every type of terrain.

Started by Guy Mowbray in 1999 after the politics and monotony of race programs caught up with him, the original RMF team was created to fill a void and re-introduce the laid-back but action-packed energy skiing was missing.

By applying the technique and mountain wisdom he and like-minded freeskier Kevin Hjertaas had gained while skiing in the Rockies, a fun, fast-paced, “anti ski program” was born. Nowadays, with club alumni like Eric and Stevie Hjorleifson, Chris Rubens, Izzy Lynch, Megan Sime, Drew Wittstock, Noah Maisonet, Keegan Capel and up-and-comers like Garrett Capel and Ryan Statham, the little experiment in making a freeski team seems to have paid off.

Adding some spice to Lake Louise and the inspiration for countless other freeski programs over the years, the Rocky Mountain Freeriders are a force in the Rockies and Junior Freeski comps around Alberta and BC. RMF keeps young freeskiers skiing fast and taking chances in and out of the park, while introducing a whole new generation to the wonders of the mountains and all avenues to continue their skiing with a life long passion.
