Spots still Available at Lake Louise Senior Big Mountain Challenge

One of the best grassroots big mountain events (for both skiers and snowboarders!) is going down at Lake Louise this weekend. You don’t need to be part of any governing body to sign up, you don’t have to qualify and you don’t have to submit a resume of achievements to get into this rad little competition.

All you have to do is sign up and show up.

“From March 12-15, the event will run Friday (Qualifiers) & Saturday (Finals), with Sunday held as a weather day.”

In its 12th year now, the Big Mountain Challenge at Lake Louise has become a staple of Rocky Mountain Freeride culture.

Some of the best freeriders in the world have cut their teeth on the steep lines on the backside of Lake Louise, and this event is the ultimate celebration of the mountain’s radness.

So whether you’re a seasoned competitor or you’re looking to try your hand at the competitive scene, the Big Mountain Challenge is one helluva way to spend your weekend.

Oh, and if you’re looking to spectate, the competition will be held on Lake Louise’s hallowed backside, so find someone on the slopes with a bib on and ask them where it’s at for the day…

Yew!
