Trevor Sexsmith has struck again and this time he went after the crown jewel of the Selkirks, Mt. Sir Sandford, solo. For over a century this peak has held many a mountaineer off its flanks because it’s really hard to get to. Trevor elaborates in his blog, the trials that even a modern day adventurist experiences in trying to get to this peak. After a mammoth effort, Trevor makes a smart decision and turns around short of the summit ridge. This video is good because it shares some beta about the experience. Looks like Trevor got the slope in a lot better condition than the first ascent team. Sir Sandford, to our knowledge, has only been skied once before, even though it’s south face beckons many an alpinist who is sitting on a high perch looking across a sea of peaks.
