The Western Canadian freeride community is lamenting the loss of one of its brightest lights, Kyle Wolochatiuk.
Kyle died in a speed-flying accident on Squamish’s Stawamus Chief on Sunday.
It’s unclear exactly what went wrong, but we do know this: His wife is expecting a little girl and she needs our help.

Kyle made a name for himself as a big mountain snowboarder in the Canadian Rockies through the late 90s….if you ever watched Lawrence Roeck’s The Search for Mountain Jim you probably remember the shot of Kyle flowing a line down Mount Athabasca.
He eventually moved to Squamish where he found himself taking to skies with his speed wing on a regular basis.
RIP Brother….we’ll raise many a glass in your honour.
