Ok, so JT seems like a bit of a blowhard sometimes, but this footage from 2001 shows a candid interview with a guy who loves being out in the mountains.
And say what you will about his politics, he and his family have been massive supporters of the CAA since Michel Trudeau died in an avalanche in 1998.
So who knows what he’s got in store for Canada, but at least we know he’s got a genuine stake in the mountain community and the mountain environment.
Just as long as he’s not skipping out on work every time it snows more than 30cms.
